In high school school she pursued journalism, participating in state and national competitions; however, in college at the University of Washington she turned towards creative writing and social media, majoring in English and Communications. Melissa has written articles for print and online publications, including magazines and travel sites. She also has experience editing and reviewing material for literary agencies. She loves writing about culture, entertainment, travel, and international news, but loves to learn about and tackle new topics. When she’s not writing or browsing Tumblr, she’s traveling, swimming, playing with her dog, and hunting down Seattle’s most hipster cafes.
