Oak Hill Advisors LP has hired Max McAlister in London, according to Bloomberg Business and three sources familiar with the situation. Bloomberg Business reported on the hire in early April.
According to multiple sources, McAlister will trade high-yield bonds and loans at the firm. Previously, he traded junk bonds at US investment manager AllianceBernstein Holding LP before leaving earlier this year. This experience at AllianceBernstein has prepared McAlister well for what will be required at Oak Hill Advisors.
While James David, a New York-based spokesman for Oak Hill declined to comment, Sebastian Kadritzke, a spokesman for AllianceBernstein in London, said McAlister left the firm in February.
AllianceBernstein is a global asset management firm that provides investment management and research services worldwide to “institutional, high-net-worth and retail investors.” AllianceBernstein is based in New York City and had an approximate net worth of $474 billion in assets under management as of December 31st of last year.
Oak Hill Advisors is a prestigious company. Oak Hill Advisors LP is a “leading investment firm specializing in leveraged loans, high yields bonds, structured products, distressed securities and turnaround investments.” The company is operated by a phenomenal group of people who are very hands-on, including founder and CEO Glenn Russell August, chief financial officer Michael Blumstein CGA, and board member William E. Ford.
