At MSK, it is important that communication is not a barrier. They want their patients to be able to easily communicate with MSK so that they can provide them with the best care possible, quickly and efficiently. To that end, MSK worked with global marketing and technology company DigitasLBi to develop the strategy, execution, and creative aspects of their new websites.

“Whether someone engages with us at one of our facilities or online, we want it to be a streamlined, positive experience that is relevant, informative, and tailored to what they need,” said Avice Meehan, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Memorial Sloan Kettering. “By updating our webs presence, we are making an even greater commitment to serving the needs of patients and caregivers, as well as healthcare providers, researchers, and others who look to Memorial Sloan Kettering for information about the latest cancer advances, educational opportunities, pioneering science, and exceptional care.”

Their new web presence is build on Drupal 8, a leading open-source website content management system. During the building process of the websites, MSK was an important contributor to Drupal 8, eventually sharing the finished product with the open-source community. Their hope is sharing their code with the community will streamline the process of getting Drupal 8 to its final release.
